I have to admit that my number #1 favorite destination are :beaches. Beaches have always been my favorite just because of growing up in Southern California, they were accessible and as short as an hour car ride. Now, that I've moved to Colorado about 7 years ago, I realized how the natives just LOVE, I mean LOVE their mountains. And for good reason!
There is something quite peaceful and serene about the open air, the tall trees and the mountain peaks. You feel so tiny, yet feel so privilege to be surrounded by the majestic mountains. If you are at all Christian, you can remember the passage in the Bible when Moses goes to the mountain to speak to the Lord. I too feel like people do the same, in general. Camping is about being away from all distractions and just being one with your body, mind and spirit.
If you're ever in Colorado...this is #1 place I would recommend for a short weekend trip.
Visit the Rocky Mountain National Park + campout at Glacier Basin
There are plenty of trails were you can find deer and Elk! Some of which decided to great us during dinner one night. Beautiful waterfalls that are less than 4 miles hike or even a close trail at Glacier Basin Lake. It makes sense why Colorado has so many visitors that come time and time again.
The old town of Estes Park is just a quick 15 min ride into town where you can eat Elk Burgers at Penelope's and buy some famous Salt Water Taffy just down the main road.
Do I need to give you more reason to plan a short get away? I do? Okay....keep scrolling but trust me you will want to kick yourself for not coming sooner!
